Stop Light Switches
Brakes are a very important part of a vehicle it is one of the most necessary components for driving on public roads. The stop light switch is located near the brake pedal below and behind the dash. It is a pressure operated switch that completes a circuit which then sends a current to the brake lights which light up. If the switch goes bad, the brake lamps do not work. They may also stay lit even when the pedal is not depressed. Replacement of the stop light switch is a repair that might be made by even amateurs. The dash may not even have to be removed. It is right above the brake pedal just under the dash. An inspection may reveal that the connection has come loose and it may not need to be replaced. Otherwise, the switch can be removed and replaced as a whole. The part is available independent of any other component.
