Radiator Fan Switches
The radiator is the component of the engine that moves excess heat away from the engine. It is usually located in the front of the engine compartment where it can get rid of heat most easily. It looks like coils of tubes and fins; this design ensures proper heat dispersion. If the engine gets too hot, damages can occur. It is extremely important to keep the engine operating at appropriate temperatures. The radiator fan helps in this process by blowing air over the radiator and cooling it down. The heat is blown out the front of the engine compartment and the engine stays at a proper temperature. There are several components that are necessary to keeping the radiator working properly. One is the radiator fan switch. This is the mechanism that controls whether the fan is on or off. The fan does not run continuously while the engine is running and the switch ensures it comes on an off when it needs to.
