Oil Pressure Senders
The oil is one of the most important elements in the proper function of the engine. Low oil can destroy an engine or at least cause very serious damage. It is a problem that should be dealt with immediately. The oil pressure gauge on the dash indicates when the pressure is low which usually indicates that oil is low. The gauge on the dash receives an electrical signal from the oil pressure sender. The sender receives oil pressure signals from the sensor and it turns the measurement into an electrical signal that engages the light on the dash. By the time the light comes on, it may indicate that there is very little or no oil in the engine. The engine should be shut off immediately and the oil levels should be checked and replenished as needed. If the warning is ignored, it may take about a mile before damage begins to happen.
