Oil Level Sensors, Oil Level Switches
Oil is one of the most important parts of a healthy engine. It is replaced frequently and is filtered so that it remains clean. Sometimes oil leaks develop and that means a mess wherever the vehicle is parked as well as ever decreasing levels of oil in the engine. Decreased levels of oil in the engine create potential problems quickly. If oil levels become too low, the engine will be destroyed or at the very least require extensive and expensive repair. The oil level sensor indicates to the computer if the oil level is too low. That activates the oil light on the dash. When the oil light comes on, it is a problem that needs to be dealt with immediately. Even if the leak is not detected, oil must be added to the engine to eliminate problems and the leak can be located later. Oil level sensors are located in the oil pan.
