Electronic Spark Control Modules
The electronic spark control is a part of the system that gets the vehicle running. It can be a part of the distributor or the air intake. It controls the timing and generation of the spark that ignites the fuel in a fuel injected engine. Some models run without an electronic spark control and without computer timing. The more mechanical distributors and ignition systems are not as efficient as electronic controls. Timing is everything when it comes to internal combustion cars. The introduction of electronic controls and computers in vehicles made them cleaner, better operating vehicles. Electronic controls can be harder to work on because they require some experience and more training. They often cannot by worked on just because someone has good mechanical ability. Electronic controls replace many mechanical devices in vehicles with automated action. They function with a good combination of electronic and mechanical devices.
